Adding a touch of glamour to the charter day celebrations is the 2008 Miss Manaragat Beauty Pageant, where beautiful and talented young ladies vie for the chance to become Catbalogan City's epitomy of womanhood.


After going through a stringent screening process, the official candidates will be formally presented to the public on June 6 at 6:00 to 10:00 pm during the pre-pageant night at the Cell.com Hotel. The coronation night will take place on May 7, 7:00 - 10:00 pm at the city plaza.


The winner, along with the two runners-up, will be determined after a rigid process consisting of the semi-final and the final round. The eventual winner will receive a cash prize of 20,000 while the first and second runner-up will receive 15,000 and 10,000 respectively.


Special awards like Best In Gown, Best In Miss Manaragat Festival Costume, Best In Casual Wear, Best In Swimsuit, Miss Talent, Miss Congeniality and Miss Eloquence are also up for grabs with cash prizes ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 pesos to be given to the eventual winners.


Previously held as part of the celebration of the Catbalogan City Fiesta, the Miss Manaragat Beauty Pageant was moved to an earlier date to give winners more time to prepare for the province-wide beauty pageant Mutya Han Samar in August.
