Matters of local governance are fused with youthful energy as the presentation of the city government's accomplishments become part of the "WARAYA Nyt".


WARAYA Nyt is the concert-cum-variety show that will be organized by the Waray-waray Youth Advocates (WARAYA) as part of the charter day celebration this June 8 at the City Plaza.


The accomplishments, which will be presented in audio-visual format, will consist of completed and ongoing projects that were started or launched between 2007 and 2008. It is summed up by his official slogan "Kalimpyo, Kamurayaw, Kauswagan."


The mayor's notable achievements under kalimpyo (cleanliness) include a flood control program in Guindapunan area and establishment of a new dumpsite in Brgy. Lagundi for his cleanliness thrust.
For kamurayaw (orderliness), the mayor initiated the purchase of 10 units of barangay patrol motorcycles to speed-up barangay response to emergencies.


Equipments like handheld radios and accessories were also purchased for better coordination between police and traffic enforcers when responding to crime. Pumpboats were also purchased to be used for apprehension of illegal fishers under the Bantay Dagat Program.


For kauswagan (development), the mayor has implemented a barangay assistance scheme to help provide for basic needs of barangay residents, a scholarship program that has provided free education for 650 incoming high school students this year and livelihood assistance extended to 180 individuals in 46 barangays from 2006 to 2007.


He has also helped improve health services with the purchase of a new ambulance, medical laboratory equipments and reagents for the City Health Unit.
