Yes, even SK officials know how to party too.


Officials of the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) will take part in the charter day festivities with a two-night treat at the City Plaza from June 9 to 10.


On June 8, the youth officials will give a tribute to the environment in a fun way through the Inter-Barangay SK Environmental Night.


The program's main highlight is the skit prepared by the SK officials themselves. Their skit will be about the different threats to the environment such as logging, mining and pollution among others.


Other than this, environmental consciousness will be taught in the form of parlor games. Contests in singing and dancing will also have environmental themes.


Winners of the dance contest will receive cash prizes of P1, 000, P750 and P500 for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place respectively. A consolation prize of P200 will also be given to the non-winners.


For the singing contest, the 1st place winners will receive a cash prize of P800 while the 2nd and 3rd placers will be given P600 and P400 respectively. Non-winners will be given a consolation prize of P100.


This will be followed on June 8 with "SK Live!" which will feature performances by SK Chairpersons and Councilors. City Mayor Coefredo "Tekwa" Uy will grace the affair to give an inspirational talk.


The show will be started with a welcome talk to be given by SK Provincial Federation President Julius Ramon Vasquez while SK City Federation President Kristine Cassandra Aquino will give the closing remark.


Putting a touch of relevance to the program despite its variety show format are the question-and-answer portion on environmental issues and the siday number to be performed by Hon. SK Chair Reymond Cabarriban of Brgy. Lagundi.


The SK Inter-barangay Environmental Night and SK Live! will be held at the City Plaza from 7 to 12 midnight.
