CHARTER DAY CELEBRATION TOUCHES ON ENVIRONMENT
June 09, 2008 |
There is a link between livelihood and environment - this is the idea behind the Environment/Livelihood (E/L) Week which will take place during the first week of the Charter Day celebration from June 2 to 7.
As part of this celebration, DTI will present eco-friendly livelihood options through seminars on recycling, crafts out of rattan, shell and tikog as well as pedicure, manicure and haircut services.
The seminars on recycling will involve making marketable items out of some very interesting materials: scraps like tetra pack, old newspapers and bits of cloth.
The Environment/Livelihood Week will be launched on June 2, 8:00 am at the City Plaza in a short program that is also the venue for the launching of Catbalogan City's official website and the LGU Scholarship Program
